00:08
Los Angeles is currently experiencing a spike in ICE raids with reports
00:12
that this may continue for the next 30 days.
00:15
So in response, our community has been hitting the streets.
00:18
They are outside protesting,
00:20
organizing, and demanding the end to the inhumane treatment of immigrants
00:24
So familia, me too,
00:25
we want to do what we can to support if you.
00:27
You are confronted face to face with ice,
00:29
stay calm and informed.
00:31
If you're stopped in public,
00:33
don't panic. Say clearly,
00:34
I have the right to remain silent,
00:36
and I want a lawyer,
00:38
and espanol this is yo quiero permanes en silencio i quiero un
00:42
abugado. You have the right to remain silent,
00:45
never lie or consent to a search without a warrant.
00:49
So if ICE comes to your home,
00:50
they cannot. Enter without a warrant that's signed by a judge
00:54
So don't open the door and train your kids to not
00:56
open it either. You can say to them,
00:59
I do not consent,
01:00
and I want a lawyer.
01:01
Again, in Spanish,
01:02
this is Jonole consentinento icerro unabugado.
01:05
They may try to show you other documentation like an ICE arrest
01:09
warrant. That's not enough.
01:11
It must be judicial.
01:13
That looks like this.
01:15
If you're detained or arrested,
01:17
protect yourself, stay silent.
01:19
Don't sign anything and only speak about your immigration status with your
01:23
lawyer. If you need an interpreter,
01:26
ask for one. If you're pulled over,
01:28
ask if the officer is police or ICE.
01:31
If it's immigration, you still have rights.
01:34
Stay silent and don't consent to a search.
01:36
If you're recording ICE,
01:38
you have the right to film in public.
01:40
Just don't interfere. Record.
01:41
Badge numbers, vehicles,
01:43
and actions. Save the footage immediately.
01:46
ICE cannot force you to delete your footage or unlock your phone
01:50
without a warrant or a court order.
01:53
They might try. You do not have to comply.
01:56
To warn others in the community,
01:57
here are some short,
01:58
clear phrases that are helpful to know.

03:09
things may get more tense,
03:10
so stay prepared and level headed.
03:12
Familia me too as Latinos,
03:14
this is a scary moment for our community,
03:16
but we're stronger when we show up for each other.
03:19
All people deserve rights,
03:20
and we must continue fighting for those rights to be upheld.
03:24
We will be doing everything we can over here to keep you
03:27
informed. In the meantime,
03:29
please, Montenerta.
