00:58
saving money and all.
00:59
I think about the stress of bills,
01:00
but this might help me.
01:02
Yes. Yes. Well,
01:03
I'm going brother. Oh,
01:04
well, me too.
01:05
So get your ticket now in the link below and now let's
01:08
get back to the news.
01:11
You like that brother?
01:13
Have you seen the Menendez Brothers show on Netflix?
01:15
No, dude. Like I wasn't talking about it though.
01:18
Yeah, even my parents are like me.
01:19
Have you seen it?
01:20
Because they grew up with it?
01:21
You know what I mean?
01:22
They grew up with that.
01:24
It's so good brother.
01:25
It's crazy how these high profile murders are getting turned into shows
01:30
No dude for real.
01:30
But you know what the Timos on Netflix,
01:32
they'd be like, oh who died?
01:34
Let's do a documentary.
01:35
It's like it works,
01:37
it works. I want to watch it while all the attention
01:42
the show has received actually is helping the brothers case.
01:47
So here's the details of the case.
01:49
So Lyle and Eric Menendez were convicted for the brutal murder of
01:54
their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez on August 20th of 1989
02:00
in their Beverly Hills mansion.
02:03
Yep. Ok. So I didn't even know the story.
02:05
So this is a good,
02:06
good breakdown for me.
02:07
Thank you. Yeah,
02:07
of course, I'm going to keep going on.
02:09
The dad. Jose Menendez was shot in the back of the
02:13
head and Katie, the mom was shot multiple times while trying
02:17
to flee. Both were killed with shotguns.
02:21
Damn. The brothers initially told police they discovered their parents' bodies
02:26
after returning from the movies.
02:28
However, their crazy spendings after the deaths was a major red
02:34
flag. So they were spending,
02:36
spending gas, gas and maybe it was a retail therapy or
02:40
something. But like that's crazy therapy.
02:42
I mean, you could call it that,
02:44
I mean, I don't know,
02:45
it is weird but like.
02:46
Yeah. Ok. Sorry continue.
02:47
So the case turned when Eric Menendez confessed to the murders
02:51
during a session with his psychologist whose tapes were later used as
02:57
evidence. Then during their trial,
03:01
the brothers admitted to the murders but claimed they acted in self
03:05
defense after years of sexual emotional and physical abuse by their father
03:11
And they also claimed that their mother enabled the abuse.
03:16
Yeah, that's crazy because again,
03:19
I've only heard that they killed their parents.
03:20
That's all I ever.
03:21
Yeah, this show is kind of shining light on the actual
03:24
details of it, both sides.
03:27
So their first trials ended in hung juries with the defense focusing
03:31
on the abuse claims and the jury was split on whether the
03:35
killings were premeditated murder or self defense.
03:39
So in the second trial,
03:40
the judge disallowed much of the defense's abuse claims and the brothers
03:45
were convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison
03:49
without the possibility of parole.
03:52
This whole breakdown kind of reminds me that one show,
03:54
was it based on the actual thing too with the gypsy rose
03:58
like her mom was kind of like a right and then
04:01
she killed her in self defense because she gets like I got
04:05
to get out of this freaking lifestyle.
04:07
And you know. Yeah,
04:10
it's very similar. And now because of the show L A
04:12
County D A George Gascon spoke to Newsweek about potential new evidence
04:18
in the Menendez brothers case which may reopen their path to justice
04:22
And Kim K is hopping on the bandwagon too.
04:25
She's speaking on their behalf and saying that,
04:28
you know, because of all the abuse and all this new
04:30
evidence, she's saying that they're not the monsters that they paint
04:34
them to be. I don't know,
04:35
dude, like, if,
04:37
if, I mean,
04:37
it was self defense and what are they going to say about
04:42
the parents? Right?
04:43
I don't blame them.
04:45
I mean, what would you do?
04:46
Can you imagine the wants things to stop?
04:51
And then it's like that's the only way it's going to stop
04:52
and then the man is powerful.
04:54
The dad was powerful.
04:55
He's rich, rich.
04:58
Yeah. So, I mean,
04:59
I'm not justifying it but I mean,
05:02
I can see why the Menendez brothers did what they did.
05:06
Yeah, but it'll be interesting.
05:07
I mean, again,
05:08
we'll see if Netflix comes out with the documentary after the case
05:11
I don't know,
05:12
who knows. They might open it back up.
05:13
So Auria are coming to L A.
05:18
That's right. According to L A county,
05:19
you can run a restaurant out of your house so you can
05:22
finally capitalize off your tia and your cooking in peace.
05:25
And I know a hell of people that already do that.
05:27
That ain't nothing new.
05:29
It's just going to be legal now.
05:30
Exactly. Yeah. So it's going to be official now.
05:32
Home cooks going to apply for permits,
05:33
but they're going to have to follow state and local laws.
05:37
Well, imagine your mom working in the kitchen and your brother
05:41
or sister running the Valley Valley?
05:44
Yeah. And f who likes passing out the menus.
05:48
It's a whole operation with the family.
05:50
I don't know if they'd be down,
05:51
but I'm sure my mom would be down to,
05:53
you know, make some money out.
05:54
She actually used to sell her little cakes.
05:57
I don't know. But,
05:59
no. Yeah,
06:00
I mean, the premise will be authorized by health department's Environmental
06:02
Health Division which will conduct annual inspections and investigate complaints.
06:07
So, I mean,
06:09
I'm down like my big back is ready.
06:11
Imagine living next to a mission star level restaurant and just like
06:15
hey, yo,
06:15
that's like, you know,
06:16
fed, that always makes steaks a mi star.
06:22
It can be, who knows?
06:24
You know, this is true with this.
06:26
Luckily not people can get the permits and it's legal,
06:28
right? You can't have a freaking caring coming out what's going
06:31
on because one time I did eat at,
06:33
in someone's garage parking port,
06:36
they had enchiladas and the cops showed up and they booked it
06:40
and I was like,
06:41
ah, man, again,
06:43
so now I'll be legal now.
06:45
Big back in peace.
06:50
It just a senora,
06:52
the family there just chilling like someone's patio Toyota Camry right next
06:57
to you with the fumes.
06:58
Like let's do it anyways.
07:02
What? Yeah. At least it'll be li Coachella is not
07:06
what it used to be.
07:09
I do remember you literally cooked them earlier this year because they
07:12
fell off roll. The Coachella is not the same anymore.
07:16
It was all about the fucking music.
07:18
No one gave a shit about what you wore.
07:20
No one gave a shit about who was there at the flower
07:23
crowd. That's what they're calling it the influencer Olympics now because
07:27
nothing but influencers go nowadays.
07:29
Yep. And you know what,
07:31
when I have receipts,
07:32
you do. Yeah,
07:33
I do. Celebs are also over it.
07:35
What? Yeah. Says who and to prove my 0.2 of
07:39
the festival's top choice headliners actually turned down 2025 appearances.
07:46
Why would they do that?
07:47
Kendrick Lamar. He legit said Coachella ain't like us.
07:51
No, he didn't say that but he basically did when he
07:54
said no to Coachella 2025 to headline and Ri Ri the girl
08:00
you didn't know made music.
08:02
Well, she should still turn down offers.
08:05
So I'll be making music.
08:06
Ok? I mean,
08:07
have they tried hitting a BBL Jersey?
08:09
Like Drake is probably available.
08:11
He don't want to be no second pla he couldn't.
08:14
Especially after Kendrick said no,
08:17
ok, listen, fair.
08:19
They're not going to go too bad.
08:21
So sad, Rihanna can go make more Fenty in Lingerie Kendrick
08:25
He's got the Super Bowl to worry about.
08:27
Honestly, it's not like a is really overplayed,
08:29
so we don't need more of that.
08:29
But anyways respect and Drake happy to see you there so
08:34
far. these are my notes,
08:37
Coachella. If you want to be smart and you want to
08:40
lock us all in,
08:41
you need to book Pitbull Freida la in a Carol G Shakira
08:47
Juanez Carlos vs Fade and Colombia,
08:51
all of Colombia, Colombia to Mexico to Salvador.
08:56
No se bring them all in there because truly,
09:03
I feel like we carried Coachella last year and I'll say that
09:07
with my chest. OK?
09:09
There's something I disagree and something I agree with you.
09:13
I just, I just feel bad to be honest that I
09:16
feel like you didn't get to experience Coachella when it was at
09:18
the prime the music all about it.
09:21
No one gave a damn what you wore,
09:24
you know, everyone was all about the music,
09:27
all about the vibes.
09:28
And now I feel like it's a fashion show,
09:30
but this is what I do like about it now and this
09:34
is why I'm like,
09:35
damn, you're experiencing this and this is amazing because back in
09:39
my day, I hate saying that back in my day,
09:43
it wasn't very diverse.
09:45
It was not diverse at all.
09:47
Like the fact that when I went for the first time,
09:50
Cafe de Cuba performed and it was a big deal.
09:53
People were like, oh my God like Spanish,
09:57
like, oh they're singing in Spanish.
09:58
This is crazy now.
10:01
Wow. Just a whole Latinos everywhere.
10:04
So I get that,
10:05
I get the fashion argument.
10:07
I get the influencers in the wild,
10:09
you know, but really,
10:09
that's just like everywhere you literally go to the gym and you'll
10:13
see someone like doing a full on production and you're just trying
10:16
to do bench presses now.
10:17
Like, don't blame it on Coachella.
10:19
It's just life in 2024.
10:21
And honestly, it's good for the economy.
10:23
So, listen,
10:25
I think Coachella is good for the people and what you said
10:28
is good for the culture.
10:29
I saw my first K pop band at Coachella,
10:32
I saw my first Brazilian artist at Coachella.
10:34
I literally threw it back to K pop.
10:36
Never did I ever expect that to ever happen.
10:40
And that happened like I think that's the energy and while things
10:44
have changed, you know,
10:46
when it comes to Coachella,
10:47
I think that is a good thing.
10:49
If you were, if I were given the opportunity to go
10:53
to Coachella and I had a plus one,
10:55
would you still go with me?
10:57
Oh Hell yeah. So,
11:00
so, so Jennifer Aria from Mitu has not declined invitation.
11:06
No, I have not.
11:07
I love Coachella. Coach is always,
11:09
it's gonna be an iconic time and you know what we could
11:12
you know, to anyone who doesn't go,
11:14
we'll tell you about it and my opinion might change.
11:17
Pay attention because we are about to put everyone on,
11:20
especially if you are out here in the B list scene.
11:24
Help me welcome Paloma Diaz Rivas.
11:32
Happy to have you all the way from Texas.
11:34
I know Porque Porque Iso.
11:38
I met her at Cara's office and right away,
11:41
you know, we vibed and we just had to have her
11:44
on, you know,
11:45
she's in, she's in L A,
11:46
you know, this weekend.
11:48
Yeah, this weekend.
11:49
So you're la Reina del valle.
11:51
I love your content.
11:52
You definitely don't have any trouble finding a dance partner at parties
11:59
What inspired you to make like dancing videos and how
12:02
do you have so much begging long story short.
12:07
Fun fact, I used to not like dancing really weirdly
12:11
enough. It was just like,
12:12
I don't know if it was because I was shy or like
12:17
it was to that extreme.
12:18
But I got to give a shout out to my mom because
12:21
she was the one who was like,
12:22
you're my only daughter.
12:23
So I'm and so she was kind of the one who introduced
12:31
me to it all.
12:31
And when it came to the videos,
12:33
you know, I was really into fashion at that time when
12:36
I started on tiktok and when I would do my fashion videos
12:40
was Cumbia salsa and stuff like that.
12:43
And I would start dancing and people are like,
12:45
oh, you should dance to this song.
12:46
And I was like,
12:47
ok, Ila I Lava and they're like,
12:49
oh you should this song.
12:50
And I'm like, ok,
12:51
ya, me and it kind of just went from there and
12:54
people didn't start asking for tutorials and stuff like that.
12:57
So like, and now we're here.
12:59
So people were like you up for it,
13:01
right, for my heart because I was like,
13:04
you guys think I was good from all the ways to get
13:08
pulled to dance, which has been the smoothest for you.
13:11
I feel like the smoothest has been and you're just standing there
13:21
ready to be as,
13:22
and they're just like,
13:23
come on, let's go dance.
13:24
It's not like a per it's nicely nicely,
13:29
but it's kind of like,
13:30
let's go dance. It's like,
13:31
ok, you're really taking the lead is for sure.
13:35
No, I agree.
13:36
That does work sometimes because that happened to me Saturday night like
13:41
they just went boom and I'm like,
13:43
OK, we're doing this and I'm like,
13:47
oh, I'm 23.
13:50
He goes, you don't look 32.
13:52
So I'm like, oh,
13:55
we're just so I'm like,
13:57
oh, it's smooth.
13:58
It is overall it smooth.
14:00
And so what made you want to make dad and seeing
14:03
content on social media because I know we touched on it
14:06
But like, what made you really just go for it
14:10
completely? I think a lot of things for sure.
14:13
Pero Loque me like mass,
14:15
you know, as I said,
14:16
to keep going forward was genuinely my audience.
14:19
You know, I would get comments here and there and they
14:20
would always say like,
14:22
oh t the time like buena vra or they make my day
14:25
they put a smile on my face.
14:26
I laugh or like I relate to that and how we were
14:29
talking earlier, it builds community Rae Cine is no.
14:33
So, so I wanted to keep providing that.
14:35
He honestly, I think dancing is just one of my biggest
14:38
passions apart. And so that alone,
14:40
it never feels like I'm working a day in my life or
14:42
a loso, you know,
14:44
sharing. Has there ever been a comment that stood out to
14:47
you that you were like damn like that really inspired me.
14:52
I think honestly the I've gotten not,
14:55
it wasn't a comment but it was ad m where a girl
14:58
was like it basically or Porque ain de.
15:04
She was like, you helped me build my self esteem up
15:07
and she wrote like this,
15:08
I have a screenshot of it.
15:09
She helped me build like this basically,
15:11
like got out of her shell Ta Mien and I just touched
15:14
my heart porque, you know,
15:17
and so I was like,
15:18
you know, so that to me was like,
15:20
OK, I'm doing something right here for you.
15:23
You know what else I love?
15:25
Like you dance on your oven,
15:30
you dance all types of music.
15:32
So you Bachata steps are on point.
15:35
Let me tell you,
15:36
I appreciate it. Who's teaching you these different types of dances
15:41
to Mexicano. My mother that's Lo Norteno Cumbia,
15:45
especially in Quebradita because she was in her twenties in the nineties
15:48
And that was like Suero Mole,
15:51
like she was the one being tossed around like,
15:53
yes, that was her because she's short.
15:55
Petite. Does she have back problems?
15:57
No girl you saw,
16:04
I think she was just so light.
16:06
You know what I mean?
16:07
She's, she's the Bachata.
16:10
Honestly, I just learned that on my own.
16:12
I think my mom me the advice that was like,
16:17
if you know how to feel the music,
16:19
you don't know how to dance any genre and the music will
16:22
tell you what to do.
16:23
Damn, that's deep.
16:24
And I was like,
16:25
that's good. Yeah.
16:26
So like these little ladies,
16:30
that's some good stuff.
16:31
I like that. And so with that,
16:33
I've carried it through like polo,
16:35
like dancing. Bachata,
16:36
dancing. Bollywood dancing.
16:38
Now I would do.
16:40
So I've always wanted to be in a Bollywood film.
16:43
You should go for it,
16:44
go for it. Maybe hiring people from all over the world
16:47
That's true. You're right.
16:48
OK. We'll run it back.
16:50
You live in Texas,
16:51
right? How's the wild scene out there?
16:54
Like, describe like a party for us people don't start dancing
16:58
until they hear in Una Nortena.
16:59
Like if you're like here in Cali like Evan more so.
17:03
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
17:08
It's like Las Nortena right now.
17:09
Los groups, Nortenos are popping over.
17:12
That's kind of how the scene is over there and hot take
17:15
But I think Aac LAE guys and Gros at least from
17:19
Dallas and City Tan,
17:21
Poquito Mas Cito because they want to dance a certain way.
17:24
And I feel like,
17:26
like, you know what I mean,
17:29
like, you just steal the music.
17:30
Yeah. Yeah. I mean,
17:32
you just let your body do its thing,
17:33
type of thing. And,
17:36
and he was like,
17:36
no, no, like,
17:38
come on, like a da and I'm like,
17:42
oh, I feel like in,
17:50
in, at least,
17:51
like Dallas where, like a lot of the violin arts like
17:53
that. But YJ is more relaxed.
17:57
Oh, I like that.
18:00
I love, oh,
18:04
my God. I would love to go to Ha Plaza when
18:06
you get your hat.
18:07
Oh girl, I need a full Texas makeover.
18:11
Next time I go,
18:12
I'm gonna let you make me over to a true Oh my
18:16
God. That would be so awesome.
18:18
Are amazing over there.
18:19
Well, thank you so much.

All, all the other networks.
18:40
All amazing. Thank you so much.
18:43
Just give it up for her Jenny Yo can.
18:52
But every time I hear me some chente some Selena or some
18:55
Peso Puma, I swear.
18:57
I feel like there's a little bit of Mexican blood girl.
18:59
I've seen you at Baja Beach fest.
19:02
I saw you and I see you at La Bota last weekend
19:06
Oh my. Oh my gosh.
19:07
It's crazy seeing you dance banda.
19:10
And it was like for the first time too.
19:12
It was my first time.
19:13
You're pretty good dancing banda and there's improvements to be made.
19:18
But thank you, I'm very flattered.
19:20
We roll the tape because people need to see this.
19:29
You're natural. Thank you.
19:32
It's all Eli. It's literally all Eli.
19:35
Well, I don't know,
19:36
I think part of it is growing up in L A and
19:38
actually I really started getting into Correos and a musical after working
19:42
on some music videos.
19:44
And I actually worked with legendary director Jessie and he actually recently
19:50
made a documentary about the difference that the genre is making.
19:54
Last time I saw him,
19:55
we were with Peso Pluma so he knows what's up.
19:58
Dang. Well, we are very lucky to have him on
20:01
the show. Let's welcome to Mito Daily Jessie Terrero,
20:09
Jesse. You worked with a lot of Mexican artists closely making
20:14
a difference like Puza re Peso Pluma and Stevie and so many
20:18
others. How has working with them helped shape your perspective on
20:22
the genre? I think a lot of people,
20:24
you know, it's amazing to work with them.
20:27
A lot of people don't know that I've been working in the
20:29
Mexican music world for years,
20:31
right? And I worked with everyone from Arrolladora,
20:35
the Banda. Me,
20:36
I did Jenny Rivera first concert at the Kodak Theater where we
20:40
shot live. So,
20:41
you know, I've been working with a lot of artists because
20:45
you know, I've known Angel from Dell Records for years
20:47
Jimmy Mede George Brahm.
20:50
And a lot of the guys behind the scenes,
20:51
right? And I've watched the movement grow.
20:54
So it's exciting to see all that hard work paying off,
20:59
right? Because I,
21:00
I've been monitoring it and watching it for so long that they're
21:04
rightfully having their moment,
21:05
but it didn't happen overnight.
21:07
And you're Dominican and you've worked with talent from all over the
21:11
world. Why do you think La Musica Mexicana has popped
21:15
off recently? Look,
21:17
I I think for me,
21:18
it's always been about content for us,
21:21
right? For Latinos,
21:22
we, we lack a certain level of premium content.
21:25
And that's one of the reasons I got into the I shifted
21:28
from doing hip hop videos and pop culture videos to Latino videos
21:32
because I felt like I needed to make a change.
21:35
So the way we're viewed as Latinos where we need the same
21:37
level of premium content,
21:39
right? And I've always been pushing that,
21:41
pushing that. But Mexican music to me has been gigantic forever
21:47
right? It's been huge forever.
21:49
And one of the things that I think happened is that there's
21:53
a, there's a new level of pride with our language and
21:57
there's a new level of pride being Latino,
21:59
especially in the United States before we used to have our music
22:03
playing like these little corners and we weren't sharing it with our
22:05
American friends and now people are coming.
22:08
Look at jop for first like,
22:09
hey, the American kid who's choosing to sing in Spanish,
22:14
right? So you're seeing the,
22:16
the love and the pride of being Latino and that's what's making
22:20
the music big globally because we're everywhere and now we're outside saying
22:25
hey, we're Latino,
22:27
we're playing our music in Spanish and you have to listen to
22:30
it this way. We're not trying to cross over that way
22:33
People are crossing over to us now.
22:35
Most definitely. And I,
22:36
I don't know about you,
22:36
but I personally feel like,
22:38
you know, growing up like Mexican music it was looked at
22:43
as like Corriente like or just like,
22:45
I like paisa like this was back in the day.
22:48
Oh, that's paisa like banda.
22:50
Oh, like, you know what I mean?
22:51
People look down on it like,
22:53
why do you think there has been such a shit in the
22:55
mindset? Because now it's like being like,
22:57
I see more people like celebrating it out in the hot bills
23:01
and all like, it's a black that's on my playlist.
23:04
Why do you think it's shifted?
23:06
That's where I, I go to the,
23:08
to the level of pride because I feel like we all felt
23:12
like that growing up as Latinos where,
23:14
you know, we had,
23:15
you know, I had a,
23:16
I lived in a Spanish speaking household but then when I walked
23:19
into the streets, everybody spoke English.
23:22
So you didn't share some of the things like you were almost
23:25
embarrassed if, if your parents talk to you in Spanish,
23:28
in front of your friends,
23:29
right? And in,
23:31
in America, I think they didn't promote our music,
23:35
right? So if you,
23:35
if you look at Mexican music,
23:37
most of the artists weren't our major labels,
23:40
right? Banda Mesa Lizzo's music Del Records,
23:43
Rancho Mile. It was built from the ground up because they
23:46
weren't getting support from the big guys.
23:48
Right now. All the major labels wanna jump in because it's
23:51
cool to be Mexican.
23:52
But the Mexican artists,
23:54
they had to build that themselves.
23:56
And I feel like because we weren't getting the support,
23:58
we felt like that because in our community,
24:00
sometimes our community split some people that are not prideful to be
24:04
Latino try to assimilate with other cultures.
24:07
And then, you know,
24:08
Jop made a statement of how,
24:10
when he saw bad bunny and some of these artists Latinos like
24:14
dominating the world. He was like,
24:16
oh it's our time now because now,
24:20
you know, there is this,
24:21
this Latin pride where they're playing Spanish songs on American radio.
24:26
I know you just finished the Gen Max documentary.
24:28
How did this project come about?
24:30
You know, I've been working with Amazon music for the last
24:32
couple of years. We did Lacuna del Dembo a couple of
24:34
years ago last year,
24:35
we did hip hop or sempre at the end of each one
24:38
we start talking about the next year and with the impact
24:41
that Mexican music is having,
24:43
you know, it's not one artist,
24:44
right? You can look at a Peso Puma,
24:45
but it's peso Puma.
24:47
It's Christian Nodal. It's,
24:48
it's Carin Leon, it's hobby.
24:50
It's like Natan, Natan Cano.
24:53
It's like it's exploding in multiple genres of the music at the
24:57
same time. So when you look around,
24:59
there's just a lack of content.
25:01
You guys work in the content business.
25:02
There's not a lot of content for Latinos on the premium level
25:05
and all these incredible artists,
25:07
there's no real documentaries that exist and this is opening the door
25:12
to the to that genre of music,
25:14
to Mexican music in general.
25:16
But we could have probably done 10 episodes,
25:18
right? Because two episodes can truly tell the story.
25:22
But we wanted to show love to the artists from the past
25:25
that paved the way and highlight these new artists that are doing
25:30
extremely brave things and blending music and are leading this kind of
25:34
new path. Well,
25:35
Jesse, thank you so much for talking with us.
25:38
Where can we watch the documentary?
25:40
The documentary right now is live on the Amazon music app and
25:44
then on October 25th,
25:47
it'll be on Amazon Prime.
25:49
Amazing. Well, I'll be sure to be tuning in.
25:52
Thank you so much for your time and we appreciate what you're
25:55
doing. So, yes,
25:56
thank you so much.
25:58
Appreciate your support. Thank you.
25:59
Take care. Bye bye.
