00:00
We all saw what happened at the Copa America.
00:02
Actually I lived it.
00:04
You were there? Yeah,
00:06
it was, it was pretty brutal.
00:08
It was mayhem say the least.
00:09
And those who snuck into the final without a ticket are beginning
00:12
to face consequences, rumors are flying around but here to help
00:16
us break down. What's actually happening is journalist Ka Aano.
00:21
Hi Kata. Thank you so much for joining us today.
00:24
How are you? Thank you so much for having me.
00:27
Is it really true that 7000 people were able to sneak into
00:31
the Copa America? Oh,
00:32
yes, rumors are true.
00:34
It was actually more than 7000.
00:36
It was about 8000 plus people were able to sneak in I
00:39
think sneak in is is,
00:40
is a funny thing to say because nobody snuck in.
00:43
We all saw saw on cameras,
00:45
people climbing walls, climbing fences,
00:48
passionate fans as we call them in Spanish inch inch Colombianos in
00:52
Argentinos, people were doing whatever they could to get in.
00:55
So yeah, it is,
00:57
it is indeed very true.
00:58
I guess the proper word would be breaking.
01:00
They broke into LA Copa America,
01:02
me and my family we all had our tickets,
01:04
we were literally pushed into like I still have the bruise this
01:09
on my leg because my,
01:10
my leg got caught on the ticket or the,
01:13
you know, the security.
01:15
And like we all just,
01:16
it was a huge,
01:18
like stampede. I genuinely was fearing for my life and I
01:21
think many people in the crowd were feeling the same way.
01:25
It was difficult almost to enjoy the game and be present after
01:29
surviving something not catastrophic,
01:33
but I mean, it was intense for sure,
01:36
kind of life threatening.
01:37
And you said it was like close to 8000 people that like
01:40
you know, again broke in.
01:42
but what are the repercussions for those who were caught?
01:44
Some of the penalties can be anything from loss of visa,
01:49
hefty fines, imprisonment and then others could be like as
01:53
severely as being deported from the country.
01:55
So what implications does this chaotic situation have on future events that
01:59
are set to take place in the US?
02:00
Like, you know,
02:00
we have the World Cup coming up and Olympics in the future
02:03
as well. The organization called me wasn't prepared for,
02:06
for the type of fandom that was coming to watch the game
02:10
So while, while the behavior of the people was atrocious
02:14
and was very triggering to watch from a screen or some of
02:17
us that watched live for the organization to not prepare for the
02:21
logistics to not be as organized as they should have been because
02:24
throughout other games, other players and other people were also complaining
02:27
that just the organization just wasn't at par consequences for the,
02:32
unfortunately for the lace Colombia,
02:35
like for the team,
02:36
they're facing a whole bunch of fines because of the behavior
02:39
of the fans and,
02:40
and as a Colombian,
02:42
it, it saddens me because I consider,
02:44
and I know Daniela would agree with me that,
02:46
when it comes to the guys,
02:48
when it comes to La Eion,
02:49
they, they played with their hearts,
02:53
they made us all very,
02:54
very proud. We were all excited,
02:55
you know. we don't get to see our team become
02:59
finalists of a Copa America.
03:01
as often as we,
03:02
we would like to.
03:03
So for us, we were just all very,
03:05
very excited. And I think that there's probably gonna
03:09
be a lot of new regulations there.
03:10
This was probably a learning curve for organizations that are going to
03:14
be part of our hosting for for the I A World
03:18
Cup in 2026 except for those fans that like genuinely just want
03:21
to go to game enjoy because then again,
03:23
the follow up games that we seen the Mexican soccer too where
03:25
like there's empty stadiums because we can't behave.
03:29
Yeah, it's a bummer.
03:31
I hadn't heard La Eion was facing consequences when it was
03:36
not their fault. I mean,
03:37
we, we love them so much.
03:39
We're crazy because of them.
03:41
And, but that's not an excuse,
03:42
we should be respectful and these consequences I think they're needed
03:47
so that this never happens again.
03:49
Elbo de la b nos a pass,
03:52
but that's not an excuse.
03:55
Disappointment. What is that?
03:57
I'm not, I'm not mad.
03:59
I'm disappointed in you.
04:00
That's what I felt like.
04:02
Bueno. Thank you so so much for joining us to help
04:07
talk about what happened,
04:09
what's happening? We really appreciate you joining us,
04:12
Kata. I appreciate you inviting me.
04:14

04:17

04:20
