Brother. It's the end of an era and that is why
00:02
we're wearing black today.
00:04
Redbox is officially shutting down after more than two decades of serving
00:09
up DVD rentals. Let's have a moment of silence.
00:13
I think that's only right.
00:16
Damn. That would be like that.
00:20
Oh, man. Well,
00:20
apparently all the employers are expected to be laid off and there
00:23
will be 24,000 of kiosks,
00:26
which is all of them.
00:27
Honestly, this is going to sound really dumb.
00:30
I didn't think they had employees because it's just boxes,
00:33
you know, but then I'm like,
00:36
oh, no, you have people that install them,
00:38
that refill them and I get it.
00:40
I mean, they have to charge,
00:41
you get charged late fees and I'm like,
00:43
charging me. That's true.
00:45
Well, first Blockbuster R ip another great one that our local
00:52
rental spots. I know I used to go to a little
00:54
rental spot by where I live and that was done.
00:58
They had to sell their DVD S but now red box,
01:02
you know, it's sad.
01:03
What's next? I don't know,
01:05
bosses, aren't they getting rid of DVD S in store?
01:09
Yeah, I mean,
01:10
no one uses them anymore.
01:12
Well, I don't even have a DVD player.
01:13
Let's be real though.
01:15
When's the last time someone used this?
01:18
Because the one by my gas station,
01:20
like I always drive by,
01:21
it's not even red anymore.
01:22
It's faded as fuck.
01:24
It's like, oh my God.
01:26
And it's all tagged because there's one,
01:28
see the screen. I have one right down the hill from
01:32
me and it's completely faded,
01:35
like you say, like pink,
01:37
everything. we love,
01:38
everything that's near and dear to us is going.
01:39
But also it's our fault.
01:40
To be honest, I didn't,
01:42
I didn't know it was still going on.
01:44
I thought it was abandoned.
01:45
The box. It was just there,
01:48
abandoned. And then until I saw the new movies popping up
01:52
I was like,
01:52
that's odd. No one watches DVD S anymore.
01:55
Well, Red Box Rest in peace.
01:57
You were a real one,
01:58
but a real one,
02:00
I guess maybe they'll come back somehow some way.
02:02
I don't know. I don't,
02:04
I don't think DVD S are coming back unless people were going
02:07
to collect them like vinyl records.
02:08
But that's another story.
02:11
All right. Well,
02:11
Farewell Amigo. See you on the other side.
