00:06
I have a little symbol,
00:07
you know, it's orchestrated the fucking.
00:14
Anyways, welcome back to Lincoln,
00:17
Alejandro and I'm Jenny and we have a very special show for
00:21
And can we address why we're wearing the same shit as last
00:24
we slept in the studio because we're so sad.
00:26
We're leaving. So we slept over.
00:29
I'm kidding, we're locked in.
00:32
Please let us know there's a shower in here.
00:36
this is true, you're right.
00:40
But any who we have a great show for you guys,
00:42
We're going to be going into why Marshall's employees are getting
00:48
strapped? Where was?
00:52
I don't want to give too much away.
00:54
You guys are gonna have to tune in and we also found
00:56
out the best cities to raise kids and we actually have musician
01:00
Laurie telling us her biggest of supporter again,
01:03
another curveball at you and then we have our very own Camila
01:06
joining us from the billboard red carpet in Miami.
01:15
I know some of y'all have been hearing Juan Vasari Quero Cera
01:20
Ella. I heard that one,
01:21
Tegan Primo de Hermano Tegan.
01:26
Herita. Well, if you forward to that request,
01:28
according to a study from the New York Times,
01:30
these are the best places to raise Children.
01:32
First up, we have Fremont,
01:34
California. Where the fuck is Fremont?
01:38
Fremont, I thought it was in like that street in Las
01:40
Vegas. Fremont street.
01:42
A Elvis and everything and the show girls.
01:45
No, I don't think that's,
01:46
it is not the best place to raise Children.
01:49
I mean, the betting and no.
01:51
Yeah. Is this Fremont,
01:51
California so good. So Fremont California has education and child care
01:56
in good schools. Ok.
01:57
In Overland Park, Kansas.
02:00
Yeah, it's affordable.
02:01
Socioeconomics are good. But you're in Kansas.
02:04
So keep that in mind.
02:06
Oh, Irvine, California.
02:10
They got good malls,
02:11
health and safety. So it's known for health and safety education
02:15
and child care. Not bad.
02:17
I like Irvine. I love the OC.
02:19
So a lot of California socal spots or like a S Naral
02:22
too. Meanwhile, these cities received the worst score when it
02:28
comes to raising a family.
02:30
All right. So Augusta Georgia made the list for one of
02:33
the worst for health and safety and,
02:35
yeah, it's kind of important.
02:37
Mississippi, health and safety.
02:39
Yep. Again, that's kind of scary.
02:42
I think they racist out there too.
02:45
the south. I don't think it's safe.
02:48
I guess that kind of goes hand in hand,
02:49
right? Unsafe, racist.
02:51
I don't know. And then.
02:55
Yeah. But they also have Mardi Gras.
02:56
So it is kind of like you wanna turn up.
02:58
But it's also, you know,
03:00
you not for families,
03:02
maybe when they're older,
03:04
Yeah, this is the best city to raise your kids.
03:06
Well,, one thing was clear in the results,
03:09
the effects of income inequality,
03:12
cities at the top of the list had high median incomes and
03:16
mostly white or Asian populations.
03:19
Mm While those at the bottom had low median incomes and mostly
03:22
black or Hispanic populations.
03:25
Interesting. So what do you think?
03:27
Where are you raising your kids?
03:29
Do you feel good about it?
03:30
Let us know in the comments.
03:34
1800 police officers were charged with child sexual abuse from 2005 to
03:38
2022. They targeted groomed and violated Children in every state in
03:44
Nearly 40% of convicted officers avoided prison sentences and some officers were
03:50
accused of child sexual abuse on police reports but were charged with
03:56
non sexual crimes instead like misconduct.
04:00
One officer sexually abused a girl in his patrol car and another
04:04
during questioning at a police station,
04:07
cops regularly met the Children through work such as during investigations or
04:12
arrests or while doing acts of community service reports found that police
04:18
spent months grooming the Children and threatened them with arrest to silence
04:23
them. This is why some cops get into the business.
04:26
They get away with it.
04:30
police departments have enabled this to happen by ignoring red flags while
04:34
the courts have allowed the accused cops to avoid prison.
04:37
And there's a national tracker for officers accused of child abuse.
04:40
So sometimes they just stay in the system,
04:43
some fucked up shit.
04:44
Like again, we're supposed to go to these guys for,
04:47
for help to feel secure but they're abusing their power and then
04:52
they're sadly that's why some,
04:54
some cops, not all cops,
04:55
but some cops go into the business because they're like,
04:58
oh well, I'm gonna get like a little slap on the
05:02
you know, and I can freely commit things like this.
05:12
the mob is in motion,
05:14
the W NBA is back and the NBA finals are on and
05:19
to break down everything that's going on in the sports world.
05:22
We have Jennifer Mercedes A K A la chica deportes.
05:27
What's up Jennifer Jennifer Gente.
05:32
What's up guys? I'm so happy to be here.
05:37
You know who we got over there right now?
05:39
Juan Soto, he's having a breakout year.
05:42
Do you think it has anything to do with him going back
05:45
to New York? Because I know he was on the Padres
05:47
West Coast. Do you think the East Coast flavor is helping
05:52
and like his having a really good season.
05:55
This year. I think it could be a combination of things
05:57
A SOTO is obviously an amazing player has been since,
06:00
since he came into the league.
06:02
I think that he is obviously someone who thrives under pressure
06:07
because anybody who comes to New York knows the type of pressure
06:10
that they're gonna experience here.
06:12
It's not easy, it is not easy to play for the
06:14
New York Yankees, but he is thriving and I think it
06:17
is a combination of everything that,
06:18
that you said, you know,
06:20
being home in a place that feels like home.
06:23
But I also believe that,
06:24
you know, the free agency,
06:26
the market, all of those things,
06:28
I think have an influence into how players play during that
06:33
but he's doing amazing.
06:34
It's good for the Yankees.
06:34
It's good for New York.
06:36
It's good for his pocket.
06:37
So I'm happy all the way around.
06:40
quick question when you have winning the World Series.
06:43
Oh, gosh, that is a tough one right now.
06:47
I, I'm gonna say who I hope makes it right
06:50
I hope the New York Yankees are there.
06:53
that's what I like to hear for 28 this season.
06:56
Oh, I'm going for the Dodgers.
06:58
I, but y'all but yeah,
07:00
we ca so we are Dodger fans.
07:02
it was a rough week for us.
07:03
We took one game you fair and square,
07:07
fair and square and Jennifer.
07:11
Like why does the league hate Kit Clark?
07:15
Like let's get into that.
07:16
Can you give us some eye on the situation?
07:19
I don't think that it's fair to say that the league hates
07:21
Kaitlin Clark. I think that there are a few players who
07:24
maybe have experienced some jealousy a little bit.
07:26
Hey, like this newcomer who does,
07:28
she think she is coming in and,
07:30
and bringing all of this attention,
07:32
right? A bad player isn't going to get this type of
07:34
attention. The reason that she's getting all of this attention and
07:37
this, this type of defensive attention.
07:40
I believe it's because she is a good player and they
07:41
see the potential in her.
07:42
She, she's, she's one of the best players to
07:45
to come into this season,
07:47
right? So I believe that it's more of that.
07:50
It's more of a welcoming to the rookie.
07:51
She's not the only one who's experienced it.
07:53
Angel Reese has experienced it.
07:54
She has been a blessing along with Angel Reese though,
07:58
right? I think that people sometimes are missing that she
08:01
she is one of the great players.
08:02
She's bringing a lot of great attention,
08:05
negative and positive. I always say,
08:06
you know, that publicity is good publicity.
08:08
So we're talking about the league.
08:11
People who have never followed the game,
08:13
are talking about the league and and are watching,
08:15
I'm happy that it's finally getting to that level of like
08:20
yes, people, millions of people are tuning in.
08:22
I love it. I can't wait.
08:23
I, I love to see the growth of women in sports
08:25
So, how do you feel about Kaylin getting snubbed on
08:28
the Olympic team though?
08:31
honestly, I don't know if it's a snub or if it's
08:34
just, you gotta pay your dues quote unquote.
08:37
Right. I feel like she's just getting hazed.
08:40
You know, it's a little part of it is being hazed
08:45
I think it's just going to make her want to work stronger
08:47
and perform and show people that she does belong where she is
08:50
she does belong in an Olympic team,
08:52
but she's got a long career ahead of her that there is
08:56
And the Olympic team is one of the most difficult teams to
08:59
she, she said it herself.
09:01
So you can't expect to make a team like the Olympic
09:07
you have the Olympic team is literally the best players in the
09:11
league and you have a lot of very good seasoned players
09:16
who have made the team now.
09:19
Could it have been a sub?
09:21
I think when you're making a team of this caliber,
09:24
it's because you want to win and you put the players that
09:27
you think are gonna give you the best chance of winning,
09:29
especially on an international stage like the Olympics.
09:33
Thank you so much for joining the show.
09:35
Where can we follow you?
09:37
You can follow me at La Chica Deportes on Instagram,
09:41
all those wonderful social media sites.
09:44
You can catch all of my interviews and coverage from,
09:47
from the MLB. Awesome.
09:48
Thank you, Jennifer.
09:50
Thank you for coming on.
09:51
Thank you guys for having me.
09:53
I appreciate it. Of course.
09:54
Anytime take care girl,
10:00
our next guest is an author,
10:01
Barrio Rising, Maria Dolores Aguila.
10:06
Welcome, welcome. Thank you for joining us.
10:08
Thank you for having me.
10:09
Oh, yeah, of course.
10:10
I mean, we want to talk about your book obviously and
10:12
get people on it too as well.
10:13
So help spread the word right of the book is amazing.
10:17
Obviously, we love the illustrations and it's a good show I
10:20
can do the children's book,
10:21
you know, but it didn't just cover regular topics that you
10:24
see in children's book.
10:25
It covers a little bit more than that.
10:26
Can you tell us like the what your book is about as
10:30
well as why it stuck with you specifically?
10:32
So what body of rising is at its heart is about community
10:37
And I think that's really important because we live in
10:40
a time where the way that things are going to get done
10:43
the way that things are going to change in the right
10:45
direction is by coming together and working together toward a focused goal
10:48
right? So that's why I wanted to write Bar of
10:52
Rising and have it focused on community because I feel like that's
10:56
so important. Do you mind elaborate a little bit more on
10:58
the history of Chicano Park?
10:59
So Chicano Park is in Barrio Logan.
11:01
Barrio Logan was the largest Mexican community in California at the time
11:06
when it was established.
11:07
But as time went on,
11:08
things started happening. they lost the beach in Bayfront access
11:13
to the San Diego Bay.
11:14
Their neighborhood was changed from residential to industrial without their knowledge.
11:18
And when that happened,
11:19
junkyards and heavy industry moved in right next to homes and schools
11:23
And so with expansion of freeway five,
11:26
they were forced to move about 5000 homes and businesses from Barrio
11:30
Logan and it actually fractured.
11:32
The neighborhood in half,
11:33
there became Barrio Logan and then there was on the other side
11:35
of the freeway Logan Heights.
11:36
So it went from this huge vibrant community to something very small
11:40
and fractured. And so the residents just wanted a green space
11:43
that's all they wanted.
11:44
And they had been asking for a small space underneath the Coronado
11:47
Bridge for some time and years passed and it didn't come.
11:50
And one day out of nowhere underneath the bridge,
11:53
a bunch of bulldozers show up and they're like,
11:55
oh my gosh, we're finally going to get our park.
11:58
This is it. And so everybody's super excited and one of
12:01
the residents, his name was Mario Solis he went down there
12:04
and he talked to them and they're like,
12:05
oh, no, this is not going to be a park
12:07
This is going to be ach p substation,
12:09
a police station. And they were like,
12:11
what? And so Mario goes from house to business,
12:15
he goes to Aita and he tells you got to get to
12:18
the park, they're building a police station.
12:20
And so the entire community converges on the site and it was
12:24
just this natural protest that just happen and they stayed there for
12:28
12 days and it wasn't just like single people or young men
12:34
or young women, it was entire families,
12:36
it was Children and then all the surrounding barrios came in and
12:40
helped them as well.
12:41
So it was really an active community that had Chicano Park came
12:47
to be and we live in interesting times.
12:49
I feel like, you know,
12:52
there's a lot of change and then there's a lot of people
12:54
still pushing back. So why is learning about these kinds of
12:57
stories is important for kids specifically for kids specifically?
13:00
I think this is important because we live in a time where
13:03
knowledge is kind of being threatened with book bands and stuff like
13:08
that. Like people don't want to let us show our history
13:12
like to know that we,
13:14
our community has come together to accomplish amazing things.
13:18
there's such a powerful lesson in coming together that I think that
13:21
this is something that kids,
13:22
especially Jen Alpha and Jen X are so community focused.
13:26
I think more than the rest of us.
13:28
And I mean, I just think it's something that they would
13:31
enjoy from start to finish.
13:34
How is the process of making the book?
13:36
Oh my gosh. They took so long.
13:39
So when I first learned about Chicano Park,
13:43
I was obsessed. I had to find out every single thing
13:46
I could about the park because I've always lived next to Chicano
13:48
Park and I've always passed by it.
13:51
but I never connected in my head like how they got there
13:55
And so when I found out what it was,
13:58
I tracked down everything I could,
13:59
I read articles, I read books,
14:01
newspapers, watched media.
14:03
So that was about five years of me just absorbing all the
14:06
information. And then at the end,
14:08
I was like, oh my gosh,
14:08
I have to write this story.
14:11
And then that was kind of the easy part writing.
14:14
It was the hard part.
14:15
I wrote a few different iterations and I was kind of rejected
14:21
But yeah, I just kept going and finally I connected with
14:25
an agent who was like,
14:27
I can't stop thinking about this.
14:29
Let's connect. So I worked with her and then we got
14:32
book offers and here we are now.
14:34
So the whole process all in all 10 years.
14:40
And Best Wed and Tear that goes into these books is crazy
14:43
And as a fellow pocho,
14:44
I can help but notice that there's an English and a Spanish
14:47
version of the book.
14:47
Yes. And that was so important to me.
14:49
I had to go with someone who was going to publish the
14:52
book, both in English and Spanish.
14:53
But at the last minute I kind of chickened out of translating
14:58
my whole life, everybody called me a Pacha or they made
15:01
fun of my Spanish because I'll conjugate a verb wrong here and
15:04
there, you know what I mean?
15:06
And so I got nervous to translate it and he's a very
15:09
popular Chicano author. His name is David Bowles.
15:12
He's amazing. He has some amazing books and I was so
15:14
honored that he agreed to try.
15:17
When can people buy your book?
15:18
When is it available?
15:19
So Bario Rising and El Barrio Celean comes out on June 18th
15:22
they're going to be simultaneously published and they will be available
15:25
wherever books are sold and then on social where can people find
15:28
you and keep up with your,
15:29
you can follow me on Instagram at Maria dot D Aguila and
15:34
you can go to my website at Maria Dolores aguila.com.
15:36
Thank you. There you go guys.
15:38
Check out Mario Rising by Maria Dolores Aguila coming out June 18th
15:42
18th, more and more musicians are breaking from the traditional label
15:51
signing and here to talk to us about her music and how
15:55
she's been able to fund it.
15:57
Is Lauri Garcia. Let's give her a round of applause.
16:04
guys. Thank you for inviting me.
16:06
I'm so happy to be here and,
16:08
well, I spell all the cheese.
16:11
I got some questions for you.
16:12
So, how long have you been working on music?
16:16
And how did you get a song with Dior and Los Angeles
16:20
Azules? Well, for music,
16:23
I've been working for about,
16:25
you can say almost three years now.
16:27
But I got the music with the oro because I used
16:33
to work with this label that I don't work no more.
16:35
And they were close with the Oro.
16:37
So they gave me the opportunity to meet him.
16:40
And then after that,
16:41
we of course got together and made a song which is like
16:45
a good hit. I love it.
16:47
I love Cumbia. So I love dancing to it a lot
16:53
So, and what motivated you to start your onlyfans page?
16:58
A lot of people don't really believe me sometimes when I mentioned
17:01
this. But it was actually my mom one time we were
17:05
sitting down on like the couch,
17:08
we weren't doing nothing,
17:09
none of us. And she was like,
17:10
hey, Mia, why don't you open an Os?
17:15
wait, cut. Do you know what that means?
17:17
Do you know what they sell there?
17:20
yeah, but it's like something extra.
17:22
Nobody's gonna touch you,
17:23
nobody's gonna do nothing to you.
17:25
So you just post pictures,
17:26
you post like on Insta grandpa somewhere else.
17:29
And then I was like,
17:30
ok, I can give it a try.
17:32
And after that ya got it because I was like,
17:34
if I don't do it right now,
17:35
she's going to change her mind and she's going to get mad
17:38
at me. So I'm going to do it right now and
17:40
she has her word and that's how I started.
17:43
It was on November 2022.
17:47
I was pregnant. So I started when I was pregnant.
17:51
So it's a really for me it was like more of a
17:56
this is actually gonna help me in a way and I had
18:00
friends who do only fan.
18:01
So I did my research first before.
18:04
So I asked them and as long as you like,
18:09
have like a really strong mind because you have a,
18:11
you have to have a strong mind to enter this world because
18:14
it has a lot of bad flash.
18:16
So it's a flashback back.
18:18
I know what you're talking about.
18:26
My 80%. I'm trying the best and,
18:29
but not that much you hate and a world.
18:32
So when I started a lot of people were like,
18:36
why are you doing that?
18:37
You should think about like,
18:38
how about your future and everything?
18:42
That's what I'm doing.
18:47
yeah,, that's how it all started.
18:49
It was because of my mom's little idea.
18:51
I, I love a supported mom.
18:55
That's awesome. You're like,
18:57
I even told my mom I like,
18:59
No, she didn't even know what it was.
19:02
I told her she goes and I go with and she was
19:09
I mean, if you want you,
19:11
does your family care or know about your only family?
19:18
And actually some of them actually pushed me away.
19:23
Yes. Who's Campo Como des like,
19:28
I don't really see you but I can tell.
19:32
Yes. Yes. But some of other families they support it
19:36
Like some of my prima do it for free.
19:38
So you're like girl I'm getting,
19:40
I'm getting paid. I'm good.
19:42
Right. Yeah, definitely,
19:46
so I have to ask sexting tips.
19:52
What are some sexting tips lately?
20:01
I'm just kidding. Well,
20:04
you just gotta be like lovely because they love that.
20:08
You just gotta be the lovely girl that they want.
20:12
So just give it all lass.
20:17
Ok. I've never taken nudes.
20:19
Never, I've never taken nudes.
20:21
I am super self conscious.
20:24
I'm like, oh my God,
20:26
But I mean, if you have to trust the person,
20:29
right? What are some tips on taking them?
20:32
Well, first of all tips as in when you start doing
20:37
that type of content and putting it out there,
20:40
you have to know it's going to be out there.
20:42
You cannot hide them from the world because the world is going
20:49
I know that's why as long as you put a little bit
20:54
of filter so you can look good to you.
20:59
It's getting more normalized,
21:02
it is normal. It's something you do every day definitely have
21:07
that. If you have a relationship,
21:09
you do it with your partner.
21:10
So this is just doing it for the world.
21:13
That's normal for me.
21:15
So it's normal for everybody but some people just don't accept that
21:18
yet. What is a weird request that you've gotten like the
21:22
weirdest request you've gotten on all fans?
21:24
The weirdest, the weirdest oh my God.
21:31
Maybe whenever they ask for my armpits.
21:35
Yes. Because for me,
21:36
I don't know how to make it sexy.
21:39
Yes. They were like fo to sos and I'm like,
21:43
do it with like what like do I put like a little
21:47
peanut butter on it or like what do you want to?
21:53
So it's just like for me,
21:57
that's like the weirdest because I don't know how to make it
21:59
cute. It's a curveball.
22:02
It's just like, so I'm like,
22:05
not my face. That's so funny and we appreciate,
22:08
you know, being super open with us and where can
22:12
people follow you? Where can people listen to your music.
22:15
Yes, I have a website.
22:16
You guys can go to MF slash lao.com.
22:20
That's the website where you find everything,
22:22
everything as is and you have a new single coming out Collaros
22:32
I just love. Thank you.
22:39
The train. That is something I'm not going to miss about
22:42
this place because just everything like pinches s like the train,
22:49
the factory back there,
22:50
the factory trespassing on public property.
22:53
And I'm like, oh my God.
22:55
Yeah, Carlos Trabaja is.
22:56
I love listening to the music they put on.
22:59
It's like nice little we're shooting,
23:02
I don't want to hear Juan Gabriel while we're shooting.
23:05
I love Juan Gabriel but I'm just saying.
23:07
But anyhoo that was today's episode guys,
23:10
we hope you enjoyed it and I'll see you next time from
23:13
the studio. Are you back up?
23:15
I don't know. Oh my God.
23:17
Change is good. Change is good.
23:20
Yes. Well, I'm Jenny and I'm Alejandro and we'll see
