00:08
welcome back to Lincoln Bio.
00:11
I'm Jenny and we have a very special guest for you guys
00:15
Today. We have Gene in the house subbing in for
00:22
my new name is Pantalones.
00:25
That's right. That's right.
00:26
He's gone viral quite a few times.
00:28
But we have a packed episode for you guys today.
00:31
We have fee for funds.
00:33
Top secret D MS Becky G is in love again.
00:37
Jalapenos are less spicy,
00:39
doubt it. And we're talking Trump's money problems and updates on
00:44
a police killing in Florida and bad bunny on his high horse
00:49
along with Costco Hacks.
00:51
So it's gonna be quite an interesting episode.
00:54
Let's jump into it guys.
00:55
Whatever happened to OG fundraisers from our childhood like car washes bake
01:00
sales. Apparently that's not cutting it anymore because toll licking is
01:05
in oh an Oklahoma school is under investigation after a video surfaced
01:14
showing kids licking tolls for a fundraiser.
01:20
Despite the fuck out of here nature of the event the school
01:25
district insists it was conducted with students volunteering and aimed at raising
01:31
funds. Hold up Jenny.
01:33
I need to see those permission slips because there's no way my
01:36
mom would have signed anything like that.
01:38
Dude. I would have loved to be on the side of
01:40
the parents. Like their point of view,
01:42
like when they received the permission slip and what did it say
01:47
Allow your child to lick feet at lunch period today?
01:53
Oh my God. So surprisingly,
01:55
the high school managed to amass nearly 100 and $53,000 throughout the
01:59
week for a local nonprofit organization that provides safe space for students
02:04
and adults. Oh my gosh.
02:05
They raised 100 and $53,000 in one week.
02:14
You know what I'm thinking?
02:17
I'm already, I'm already,
02:19
I'm already there. What do you mean?
02:21
I'm already there. Oh my God,
02:24
I take food as forms of payment.
02:27
Those pillows on the toes.
02:29
You got those that might get you extra money right there.
02:33
The toll hair. You got me with the tall hair.
02:36
Jean. Forget about cyber attacks.
02:43
Our country is being compromised through the D MS scandalous.
02:47
So former Air force official David Slater,
02:51
who is 63 years old,
02:54
by the way of Nebraska has been charged with sharing top secret
02:59
information with a woman who claimed to be living in Ukraine at
03:04
the time of Russia's invasion in 2022.
03:07
This has to be the first time I've heard of somebody getting
03:09
finessed out of like classified information.
03:12
Like the people usually get finessed.
03:14
Out of like their life savings,
03:16
like green cards but classified information,
03:19
like what is going on.
03:21
How do you even get that?
03:22
How do you even like,
03:23
touch that topic without?
03:24
You have to see the messages that they were cooking poor Dave
03:28
well, luckily we have them in front of us.
03:31
Well, we have a line in front of us,
03:33
Dave. This is their message.
03:36
This is one of the messages,
03:36
Dave. It's great that you get information about specified country.
03:42
One first, I hope you will tell me right away.
03:47
You are my secret agent with love.
03:50
Yo, like who even talks like that?
03:53
Yo, it sounds like two Russians like using Chad GP T
03:57
like, yo, we got him like let's flirt with American
04:03
That's crazy. So don't believe all those D MS you
04:06
get Gene because he's been getting a whole lot of them ever
04:09
since we posted them on Instagram.
04:10
I needed somebody to screen them.
04:12
I don't know but any who moving on is Becky G back
04:19
with soccer player Sebastian yet.
04:22
Get that. That's you pronounce his name,
04:24
right? Because it's like it's two L's.
04:26
I, I hope I'm pronouncing it right yet.
04:28
Get because Y the two L's is A Y in my book
04:32
Becky G and Sebastian were spotted strolling together through Frisco Texas
04:39
on Monday, paparazzi snapped photos of them outside a coffee shop
04:44
called Summer Moon coffee.
04:46
Sources say they were also cuddly in the park bench and Sebastian
04:52
had his arms around her shoulders.
04:58
what do you think that means?
04:59
I mean, I don't know how to feel about it.
05:00
We don't know. I mean,
05:01
you may remember the,
05:02
all those rumors that Sebastian cheated on Becky G in March 2023
05:06
while they were engaged.
05:09
I shot a couple of D MS.
05:11
Yeah, you, you sh you shot J should be shot
05:17
a woman said that she had an affair with him.
05:20
We never found out the truth but the FC Dallas player
05:24
did write an apology post on Instagram.
05:27
He said he had a 10 minute lapse in judgment and got
05:31
right up to the very boundaries of lines.
05:34
He also called the rumors,
05:35
an extortion plot against him and was filled with more lies than
05:40
any truth, which I mean,
05:42
I get it because the,
05:45
they, they get something and Los Bremen like they,
05:49
they milk it, you know,
05:51
and they add their shit in there.
05:53
He beat the allegations.
05:54
That's all I'm reading.
05:55
look at them, they're going out again round two baby.
05:58
Well, like Abuela says Cuando Rios,
06:02
Suena Agua Y so Becky G stayed quiet and the rumors died
06:09
in fact though take off her ring by November 2023.
06:15
They were seen on a coffee date and the new photos might
06:18
mean they're officially back.
06:19
So at the end of the day,
06:21
Becky do whatever you want.
06:23
Girl, be happy as long as you're happy.
06:25
Don't care what people say.
06:26
Oh, I like cheater wants a cheater.
06:28
You whatever you want,
06:29
be happy. I don't judge you at all.
06:32
She's so nice. She seems really nice.
06:34
She seems super humble.
06:38
do you boo. So we're gonna go into a spicy or
06:46
not? So spicy topic.
06:50
If you think jalapenos are less spicy than they used to be
06:57
They actually are investigations show that there might be a Jalapeno conspiracy
07:04
to make them less spicy on purpose.
07:06
Damn. Sounds like you know the on the white agenda
07:11
So according to a board member of New Mexico State University's
07:15
Chile Pepper Institute processing plants really want low heat,
07:22
high flavor jalapenos, these processing plants then make jalapeno chips,
07:28
dips sauces and yes.
07:31
Jalapeno poppers. Well,
07:33
20 years ago, researchers at Texas A and M University invented
07:37
the tame two jalapeno shiny big and not spicy.
07:42
Some tame twos are even milder than a poblano pepper today,
07:46
it's become one of the most popular jalapeno varieties ever.
07:51
Eventually, the attempt to cross bread with other varieties and now
07:56
jalapenos in the US just don't hit the same anymore.
08:00
Meanwhile, the spicier jalapenos are losing ground and it's just
08:05
crazy to me because like everything is becoming less spicy.
08:09
Like these are like these are basically the Trader Joe's Jalapenos.
08:12
I like making faces when I eat them like I do the
08:14
spice level. Depends on the face.
08:16
I me Yeah. You know if I make a crazy,
08:20
should we both? What's the,
08:21
what, what will get the crazy reaction?
08:23
This one or this one?
08:25
This one do it like oh this is not hating at all
08:31
Another bite. I'll take another bite.
08:38
I eat the whole thing.
08:41
You gotta give me time.
08:47
Virgilio Aguila. Her Mendez is an indigenous Guatemalan immigrant teen who
08:51
was charged with felony murder of a police officer.
08:53
It all happened in Florida.
08:55
Virgilio was sitting outside a shared living,
08:57
calling his family in Guatemala.
08:58
When he was approached by Sergeant Michael Kovich of the sheriff's department
09:03
Villo spoke no English.
09:04
So when he was approached by the sheriff for looking suspicious,
09:08
he was unable to defend himself.
09:10
Instead, the officer tased Virgilio repeatedly held him in a chokehold
09:15
and pinned him down.
09:16
And when body cam footage of the incident was released,
09:19
it was determined that not only was this an excessive use of
09:22
force to begin with,
09:23
but Virgilio was racially profiled and innocent to begin with.
09:27
Unfortunately, the incident ended with the death of the officer which
09:30
was later determined to have been caused by pre existing conditions and
09:34
not by Virgilio. But of course the sheriff's office had to
09:38
find someone to blame and thus Villo was arrested and charged with
09:41
the death of the officer.
09:43
It was really intense dude.
09:45
joining us to talk about the recent update in the case
09:48
is Mariana Blanco, assistant executive director of the Guatemalan Maya Center
09:52
the organization helping to liberate Virgilio.
09:55
Hi, Mariana, welcome.
09:57
Hi, how are you guys?
09:59
Thank you so much for joining.
10:02
Yeah. Thanks for having me.
10:03
Can you speak to us about when you first heard
10:06
of Virgilio's case and how the Guatemala Maya Center provided assistance?
10:11
Yeah, so we were contacted back in July by the public
10:14
defender's office. But our work really,
10:17
we really dove into that work in October and our role
10:22
was to be the cultural liaisons,
10:24
the bridge between the indigenous Mayama population and the public defender as
10:30
well as to provide interpretation and to find his family in
10:34
Guatemala, the public defender at the time had not been able
10:37
to contact his family.
10:39
And so that is really where our agency came in.
10:42
What is the current status on V's case?
10:45
Like, are there any updates?
10:46
It's been many months of back and forth initially,
10:50
when he was working with the public defender,
10:52
they did file a motion for his incompetence and,
10:58
you know, said that he was incompetent to stand trial.
11:02
and fast forward to now,
11:03
we got a private attorney,
11:05
Jose Baez involved on the case.
11:07
Just recently last week,
11:09
he was able to get the state's attorney to drop all the
11:12
charges on the case,
11:14
which is great for Virgilio.
11:15
That is a big win for us,
11:17
but that doesn't translate into his immigration case.
11:21
So he currently is still being detained now at an immigration facility
11:26
with the feds essentially.
11:28
And so that immigration case is the second part of this case
11:31
that we'll have to tackle.
11:32
I mean, I know he's still detained.
11:35
But how did Virgilio and his family react to the news that
11:40
the charges were dropped?
11:43
They were so happy they were really were over the moon and
11:48
and from the very beginning,
11:50
the public defender did a great job in building a culturally competent
11:54
team. And so everybody who's joined has really welcomed that.
11:58
we were able to tell him via facetime,
12:01
his dad and he just,
12:03
you know, cried and,
12:04
and expressed gratitude and said,
12:06
though he has no money to pay for any of this,
12:08
like he pays in prayers.
12:10
They just really are a wonderful family to work with.
12:14
Virgilio is just over the moon that so many people have stepped
12:18
up and, and kind of taken this role of,
12:21
of being their, you know,
12:22
his guardian when he just was completely isolated for all of these
12:27
months. So he's really feeling the support of the community and
12:30
the overwhelming support of everybody who has really stepped up to
12:34
advocate for him on this case.
12:36
I can imagine how he felt to begin with.
12:39
Like the, it's so scary,
12:41
like not speaking the language and then just kind of being so
12:44
isolated, like big kudos to you guys,
12:47
you guys are doing incredible work.
12:48
What kinds of services or help can people get from the Guatemala
12:53
So we're central to West Palm Beach in,
12:56
in Florida. And our services are a lot of direct
13:01
we pride ourselves on advocacy.
13:03
And so there's really nothing that our team can't do.
13:06
We're very flexible, very non bureaucratic and a lot of cultural
13:10
guidance interpretation in the indigenous languages.
13:14
But our center is really welcome to all.
13:17
It's not just particularly for the indigenous Maya,
13:20
they're just our niche.
13:22
Thank you so much Mariana.
13:24
We really appreciate, you know,
13:25
what you're doing, what you and your team are doing.
13:27
We would love to keep in touch and where can people find
13:30
you? All of our social medias are at Guatemalan Maya Center
13:33
You can follow us on there and hopefully we can connect
13:37
soon. And next time we connect,
13:38
we're hoping that Virgilio will be here as well and we can
13:41
just kind of celebrate his homecoming after so many months.
13:45
Absolutely. Thank you so much,
13:46
Mariana. Thank you all.
13:53
we've all seen clips of bad bunny show.
13:56
What goes down, what is happening the set list,
13:59
the stage set up the vibes in the audience like we've seen
14:02
it all. One thing that stood out to a lot
14:05
of people though is how bad bunny chooses to enter the arenas
14:08
at one point during one moment.
14:10
And in true Nadia Sae loque Pasar Manana spirit,
14:15
Benito is seen mounted on a horse as he takes the stage
14:19
and you know, that got some people talking and criticizing,
14:24
understandably lots of people had questions about this even being safe for
14:27
the horse to begin with.
14:29
You know, I don't know,
14:30
like I feel like that's,
14:31
you know, the blinders.
14:32
I haven't seen the horse come in with the blinders,
14:34
but I know that those like keep them concentrated but all at
14:37
the same time like Gula going on,
14:41
I've seen videos is se Caballo like me really?
14:46
I've seen videos but to answer some of our questions we brought
14:50
in Carina Chaara, a bad bunny fan and equestrian to share
14:54
her knowledge of horses with us.
15:01
Welcome. Thanks for joining.
15:03
So we've seen a lot of comments about this being potentially traumatic
15:07
for the horse. Do you think that there's any truth to
15:10
that? He's bringing a lot of attention to equestrianism?
15:13
And Kendall obviously is an equestrian herself and I love that.
15:17
I think that more of our community needs it.
15:20
But somebody who I saw last year who was also into
15:22
horses did it really?
15:24
Well, Beyonce dropped down on a glass horse and I thought
15:28
she did it super tastefully.
15:30
It still brings awareness but not with a real horse.
15:33
It could have maybe been a fake horse.
15:35
A little chariot. I don't know,
15:37
like the ones that the kids use with the redas just going
15:41
like this. That would have been funny.
15:43
So, are you aware of any protective measures that horses are
15:48
given to make sure that they're ok like that their temperament is
15:51
ok that they're not being like,
15:54
I don't know any personally.
15:55
I mean, obviously we know that horses have been around for
15:58
hundreds of thousands of years and they've been part of wars,
16:02
part of movies like Lord of the Rings certainly use
16:06
but I'm not aware of any extra measures that can be taken
16:09
to kind of get them used to a huge crowd the way
16:12
that Benito brings. Yeah.
16:15
And then it kind of makes you wonder too like,
16:17
where are they keeping the horse when it's not on stage?
16:21
You know what I mean?
16:21
Like, there's so many,
16:23
so many things to take into consideration.
16:25
There's like so much triggers for the,
16:26
for the horse, like,
16:29
yeah, I can only imagine.
16:30
But thank you so much,
16:32
Karina. We really appreciate you coming on the show and giving
16:34
us your expertise. On the subject and I wanted to ask
16:37
where can people find you?
16:39
Yeah, you can follow me on Instagram at Latina Equestrian.
16:43
Awesome. Perfect. Thank you so much for joining Carina.
16:46
Nomos. Well, I mean,
16:48
you're going to see the horse.
16:53
I'll let you know if he looks a little anxious or you
16:55
know, there is all right guys,
17:02
adulting is tough and to help us handle these trying times,
17:06
we brought comedian Martin Liso.
17:10
Hey guys, look inflation.
17:15
technology is messing up the world,
17:18
right? It's complicated out there for an adult.
17:20
But there's one place that's still pure out there.
17:23
That one place is Costco Facts.
17:26
It's, it's, it's like Wakanda,
17:27
it's, it's, it's untouched.
17:29
Look at that so many memories there,
17:31
man, growing up and now too,
17:32
bro. Fucking wh as an adult as an adult.
17:36
Oh Look at this right here.
17:38
Let me see this like II I,
17:40
I'm dating. You ever,
17:41
you ever dropped it on a chick?
17:44
on my dating website.
17:45
It's like Tinder. I'm like,
17:48
But guess what? I have a Costco membership,
17:50
right? Baby. Look at this.
17:52
You wanna go places you want things in bulk,
17:56
That's the only thing that sucks about you.
17:58
You want that 68 toilet paper roll pack?
18:01
I got you mommy so you already know there's like always one
18:05
registered 1000 customers. This is why we have siblings.
18:08
You got siblings? No,
18:10
I'm a yeah my mom so you can't even do this one
18:14
You know how there's only one register and like 1000 customers
18:19
Yeah, exactly. We used to walk in.
18:21
Me and my little brother,
18:22
my mom get your ass on the line.
18:25
Tell my little brother get on it.
18:26
Me and my mom go shopping around.
18:28
Boom. He's at the register.
18:30
We're done. We pull up with three carts.
18:32
Everybody's looking at us crazy.
18:34
But it don't matter because he's been there.
18:37
Yeah, that's how you do that,
18:40
I was at one the other day and they had just
18:43
implemented the self check out.
18:47
oop, oop. You already know how to let one slide
18:51
Yo, that shit fucking called what is it a
18:55
a security protection.
18:56
What is it? What are they called?
18:57
The, the border agencies?
18:59
Nah, lost prevention.
19:03
lost prevention with the little,
19:05
with the little red vest.
19:06
I was like, oh my God,
19:07
boom. She, she pressed something on it.
19:10
Yo, they got me in HD fucking going like that with
19:12
the bananas. Four Kak.
19:15
Like sir, you didn't scan that.
19:16
I'm like, I know I didn't,
19:18
I didn't know this shit was recording and it hit him with
19:21
a playback. Like she was like,
19:24
over here in this yo she ran it back on me.
19:26
I was like, I'm so sorry.
19:28
I was, I can't do that again.
19:29
Craziest job there is like that person with the highlighter at the
19:33
end. Like I know you're not counting all this shit.
19:35
I just hit something on purpose to see if you counting.
19:39
I, I know who's counting.
19:40
The ones are not getting dick.
19:42
No. Oh Those are the different tiers right there.
19:48
I got the, I got the middle one which is not
19:51
You got the basic pack.
19:56
in Tijuana, that's like,
19:57
that's like the top tier,
19:58
bro. Like a big ball in and yeah,
20:02
they score you from the border to the Costco there,
20:04
dude. You get your private.
20:06
You got the, you got the one car without the fucked
20:08
up wheel. You be like,
20:11
True story. I went to Tijuana.
20:13
So my friend he goes there once a month to take
20:16
care of a foot fungus.
20:19
he gets his toes zapped.
20:20
So I went there one time and I,
20:24
I forgot my, my passport card and do I because you
20:28
know they don't check you when you go in Tijuana,
20:30
they don't care. I gotta do this.
20:32
They don't care. They just let anybody in,
20:33
bro. You just go to Tijuana but on the way out
20:36
So like I went with this and that's the whole adventure
20:39
right there. So I had me going there and they let
20:41
me in because it's actually now in the,
20:44
the little border thing,
20:46
facial recognition, recognition.
20:48
