Show transcript
00:00
Our next guest is a Dutch born Puerto Rican singer and model
00:04
who just released her latest ep Chemo Lento.
00:07
Welcome to the show,
00:08
Bodi Gracia Gracia. OK.
00:16
So talk to us about growing up multicultural in a multicultural family
00:22
How has that affected your music and dancing?
00:26
Yeah, I think I've had the opportunity to live in Amsterdam
00:30
for a long time of my life.
00:34
And so music there is P pop and house.
00:40
So it was completely different world when it comes to music and
00:45
then when I move to p you know,
00:48
listening reggaeton for Primera was definitely,
00:53
I always say this,
00:54
it was like listening to porn.
00:57
It was really interesting and mixing those two together I think definitely
01:03
is refle de mi Musica Can and Lo Dear Rollan.
01:10
Yeah. Both worlds is definitely complimented and dancing and music and
01:14
all of arts. I love that.
01:16
I love the way you said the whole,
01:17
it's listening to porn.
01:18
I think I've always say something when I like something like so
01:21
much. I say I made your ears,
01:24
you know, just because I'm like,
01:26
I love it so much,
01:27
but you're also classically trained in piano and opera,
01:31
right? I love opera,
01:32
love opera. So I'm like,
01:37
have you ever felt underestimated when people focus on the modeling side
01:41
Instead? At first it would kind of,
01:45
I don't want to say upset me,
01:47
but OK, contra,
01:49
they're just looking at it that way.
01:50
And I'm actually a musician,
01:53
I think in any industry,
01:54
it doesn't matter what you're trying to do,
01:55
you have to earn your respect.
01:58
So I took that back and I was like,
02:00
you know what? I have my patience and I just work
02:02
myself through music and I just polish myself and writing better,
02:06
composing better and not only that,
02:09
but I took my time to find the right team which I
02:12
appreciate and adore. And I think I would have not been
02:15
here if I would have not had my team in place for
02:18
sure. It takes a village,
02:20
a village of the right people.
02:22
And I love Becky G.
02:25
Carol G and Tosha,
02:27
which artists are currently on your playlist.
02:30
I love them all.
02:31
That's a good list.
02:33
It's a power list for sure,
02:35
for sure. I mean,
02:36
I think Tosha just released something with Viano TNO.
02:39
That's super fire. So sexy.
02:42
So good. It's like interesting.
02:44
I don't know what they loop,
02:46
it's fire, whatever.
02:47
I love her. I think she's fire.
02:50
I love Carol G.
02:51
I love everything she does.
02:53
I love Leon. She came out with a record today.
02:56
I love her too.
02:57
Yeah, there's a lot of upcoming new artists that I really
03:00
admire. There's a girl named Jay Noah,
03:02
she's super fire to the Dominicana on Ara.
03:07
I love that. I love having the opportunity to collaborate and
03:10
talk about their experience and connect.
03:13
I think that's so cool.
03:14
I feel that the community between women is getting stronger and stronger
03:19
and that's so important,
03:20
you know, like have each other's back.
03:23
I don't know, it's just harder in the woman's side.
03:25
But I feel they are,
03:29
we are understanding more that is just so important to have to
03:33
survive. And the fact that you're shouting them out,
03:36
it's nice because it's like we don't gatekeep,
03:39
we're going to pull each other.
03:41
I think there's enough room for everyone.
03:43
And I always keep saying that,
03:45
you know, Relo Barone Reggaeton,
03:48
they do not want remix altogether.
03:50
They maybe do more than 50 s in their time.
03:54
And I'm like girls,
03:55
why aren't we? We need that too.
04:00
That's what I mean,
04:01
that community and I think I try my best at least in
04:04
my journey to really embrace that and put that together because
04:10
you know, it doesn't need to have that relationship tomorrow.
04:12
Boom. But I take my time and once I feel and
04:17
that relationship and that bonding,
04:19
I think it's special.
04:20
I agree. It is.
04:21
So what's next for you?
04:22
And also how can people find you on social media?
04:26
You guys can find me on Instagram on tiktok everywhere.
04:33
Bodine dot X and Yeah,
04:36
what's next? I just want to keep creating,
04:39
keep collaborating and keep understanding and discovering myself more who I am
04:44
in music. Love it.
04:45
Well, thank you so much for,
04:47
thank you for having me.
04:48
Thank you. Let's give it up.
