U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar and his wife Imelda have been charged with laundering foreign bribes from Azerbaijan and Mexico. Cuellar won a close primary in 2022 against then 28 year-old immigration lawyer Jessica Cisneros. He was opposed by progressives in and out of the state but supported by the Democratic establishment.
